I am SO excited to be featuring a fellow Epic Eighteen author, Tara Luebbe! This book is perfect for an interactive pre-k/kindergarten read aloud because it prompts readers to discuss how to respond when we fail. Do we give up or do we persevere? It also allows for a discussion about perfection. Do we have to be perfect to be a star? All in all, this is a great growth mindset discussion book for the early elementary classroom. Be sure to check out the super fun activity guide below. It has lots of cute center activities.
Activity Name: A Star is Born
Activity Description: Start off by having students fill out the A Star is Born worksheet included in the activity kit below. Then, ask students to identify one activity then can do better now than they could when they were a baby. Next, ask students to share one challenge they faced while learning that activity. Finally, ask them to explain how they overcame the challenge.
4N Essays Are Taking Off!
For the rest of the 2018-2019 school year, students will be writing essays about the books they recommend on our back bulletin board and their writing will be featured on our front bulletin board. Look for essays to be posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Celebrate with us as we grow as readers and writers.
