I am SO excited to be featuring a fellow Epic Eighteen author, Tara Luebbe! This book is perfect for an interactive pre-k/kindergarten read aloud because it prompts readers to discuss how to respond when we fail. Do we give up or do we persevere? It also allows for a discussion about perfection. Do we have to be perfect to be a star? All in all, this is a great growth mindset discussion book for the early elementary classroom. Be sure to check out the super fun activity guide below. It has lots of cute center activities. Activity Name: A Star is Born Activity Description: Start off by having students fill out the A Star is Born worksheet included in the activity kit below. Then, ask students to identify one activity then can do better now than they could when they were a baby. Next, ask students to share one challenge they faced while learning that activity. Finally, ask them to explain how they overcame the challenge.
